Who we are
Gyeot & Gyeol is run by Gyeotgyeol, a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea (business registration details available on request). We are responsible for the personal information described here.
Contact: hello@gyeotgyeol.com
What we collect
When you join the Gyeot & Gyeol list, we collect your email address. Our email provider also records when and how you signed up and confirmed, and whether you open or click our emails. If you write to us, we keep your email so we can reply.
Why we use it
Only to send you Gyeot & Gyeol emails: notes on handing the dull parts of office work to AI, a short comic, and now and then news about desk objects we sell. We use it because you asked to join and confirmed by email (your consent). We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for anything else.
Who handles it
- Our email provider, Stibee, stores the list and sends the emails. Your information is stored and processed in the Republic of Korea.
- The sign-up form uses Google reCAPTCHA to block spam sign-ups.
- Emails you send to hello@gyeotgyeol.com are kept in our Google (Gmail) mailbox, and we use Google's Gemini assistant to sort them and draft replies. A person reads and sends every reply.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe. When you do, we stop sending right away. We keep a minimal record that you unsubscribed so we never email you by mistake; ask us and we will delete that too.
Your choices and rights
- Every email has an unsubscribe link. It needs no login, and we act on every request within 5 business days (usually at once).
- You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to hello@gyeotgyeol.com.
- If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Readers in Australia
Gyeotgyeol is a small business based outside Australia and may not be covered by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We handle your information as described in this notice regardless. If you have a concern, please contact us first. You may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or report spam to the ACMA (acma.gov.au).
